A.A. Preamble

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Copyright © The A.A. Grapevine, Inc.

Columbia County Jail volunteers needed

District 17 volunteers provide meetings for both female and male inmates at the Columbia County Correctional Facility on Monday evenings at 6:30. The suggested qualification for this service commitment is one year or more of continuous sobriety. Volunteers should be able to commit to one or two Monday evenings a month for at least one year. A new volunteer must submit an application to the facility and attend an orientation workshop at the facility before getting started. If this service opportunity may be right for you please reach out to your District 17 Corrections Chair by email:
